TAKE

Your lines, facing you

Privacy

Effective 15 October 2026

Take collects no personal data. Your recordings, your scripts and your voice stay on your iPhone. There is no account, no tracking, no analytics and no ads.

What Take stores, and where

Your scripts, your takes (the videos you record) and your settings are saved on your iPhone, inside Take. They are never sent to us, and we have no servers that receive them. If your iPhone is backed up to iCloud or a computer, this data is included in that backup like any other app data, under Apple's terms and your own settings.

Deleting a take or a script removes it from Take. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.

Camera and microphone

Take uses the camera and microphone only to record the takes you start, and to show you a live preview while you frame the shot. Recordings are written to your iPhone and go nowhere else unless you share them.

On iPhone Duo, the cover screen shows the person being filmed their script, cue cards, countdown or pose guide while you record. That happens on the phone itself. Nothing is streamed or uploaded.

Speech recognition

When you turn on voice-follow, Take listens as you read and moves the script along with you. iOS will ask for permission to use speech recognition. Take requires on-device recognition, so what you say is processed on your iPhone and is not sent to Apple or to us. Take does not keep transcripts or audio from voice-follow. The only audio Take saves is the sound recorded as part of a take.

Photos

When you choose Save to Photos, iOS asks for permission to add to your photo library. Take can only add the take you chose. It cannot see or read your existing photos.

Sharing

When you share a take, iOS shows the share sheet and you choose where it goes. The app you pick handles it from there, under its own privacy policy. Take sees nothing about where it went.

Purchases

Take Pro is sold through Apple's App Store, and Apple handles payment. We never see your name, email, card or Apple Account details. Take only learns from Apple whether Pro is active on your device, so it can unlock the Pro features.

What Take does not do

Crash reports

Take has no crash reporting of its own. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. You can turn that off at any time in Settings, Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements.

People you film

Take records only what you point it at, and keeps it on your iPhone. If you film other people, get their consent and follow the law where you are.

Children

Take is not directed at children under 13. Because it collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. If Take ever starts collecting any data, this page will say so before it happens, and so will the App Store listing.
